February is the shortest month of the year. It is also the only month which ends on the same weekday it begins. The Roman month Februarius was named after the Latin term februum which stands for purification. It is celebrated as the LGBT History Month in the United Kingdom and the Black History Month in United States and Canada. February is dotted with events, such as, World Marriage Day (second Sunday of February), Valentine’s Day (14th of February), International Mother Language Day (21st of February), Candlemas (2nd February), George Washington’s Birthday (22nd of February) among others. I share my birthday with George Washington and somehow, in some teeny meeny way, it makes me happy – sharing my birthday with someone famous. Shakira is Columbian dancer, singer-songwriter, model and choreographer. Her “Hips don’t lie” (from the album ‘Oral Fixation, Volume 2’) proved to be the best selling song of the 21st century.
Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, “Waka Waka (This time for Africa)” is the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with over 720 million views on YouTube. She has won two Grammy awards among others.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a forward for Real Madrid and is the captain of the Portuguese national team. He became the world’s most expensive player when he transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009. The transfer was worth $132 million. He holds the record for ‘most goals scored in a single UEFA Champions League season’, scoring 17 goals in the 2013-2014 season. He is regarded as many to be one of the greatest players of all time.

Paul Donald Wight is an American professional wrestler, more popularly known by his ring name ‘BIG SHOW’. He is signed to WWE and is a seven-time world champion.
