Who is better than whom? There is no perfect answer to this question, because all this is a matter of one’s point of view. It all varies from person to person. Still, I have tried my best to make a list of 10 such people, who have created a great impact on the history and marked changes in the world. Though, their contributions are unparalleled, it won’t be fair to compare, but we can just put them on the list in order of their contributions impacting us all.
10. Adolf Hitler (1889-1945)
Well, who is not acquainted with the name that is highlighted in the pages of history? The most costly conflicts in the history-II world war, the credit goes to him. Thanks to his desire for expanding Germany Germany’s borders through force. His dreams of racial purity, killed may a million people. Nobody knows, what the world would have been without him, but we have proofs what the world is because of him.
9. Charles Darwin (1809-1882)
He bought in new ideas of creation theory. He told that the world was a lot older than what people believed it to be. Darwin ‘changed the world from being seen as static to evolving’ (changing). His theory of evolution states that all life is inter-related and has evolved from same ancestors. Could you imagine it if he hadn’t come with the theory?
8. Karl Marx (1818-1833)
Karl Marx, the German philosopher, economist, historian, sociologist, socialist and a revolutionary, a great man. Very few people are born with all the traits. The Marx’s work in economics has laid the foundation for relation between labor and capital. He explained his theories in the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. Russian revolution and communism owe roots to the man.
7. Nelson Mandela (1918-2013)
The anti-aparthied (apartheid is a policy which kept black and whites in south Africa separate, and the black Africans were denied the voting rights) man, has stolen the hearts of many he is worth the respect he gets. He fought for the black Africans, and ended this system of apartheid. In 1993, he won Nobel prize for this. Undoubtedly, ha deserves to be on the list, as he managed to root out such a disease from the society.
6. Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
He is known to be one of the most influential scientists of all time. The theory of relativity, by him had proved to be one of the pillars of modern physics. Tough, he was a firm believer of pacifism, but his theories were ued by his adopting country, USA to develop atom bombs. But, he was in complete against in using nuclear weapons and one of his sayings go as such
“A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving..”
5. Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)
Mahatma Gandhi, known as the ‘father of the nation’ (India), was the prominent leader of India fight against Britishers. He led the peaceful civil disobedient movements in India. His simple lifestyle and ideas of non-violence, truth, and beliefs about religion has made him very popular among the people as an ideal of peace.
4. Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC)
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and a scientist. His contribution to the field of metaphysics, biology, zoology, linguistics, logics and learning and behavior is notable. His ideas of four causes, phronesis, magnanimity, Potentiality and actuality Universals are very famous.
3. Lord Buddha (563 BC-483 BC)
None of us is unaware of this great name. How deeply he has influenced people can be seen from the fact that there is a completely different religion called “Buddhism”, in his name. In fact, he had established it and there are many people following the religion. His nine virtues and four noble truths are widely accepted. The four noble truth goo as such- birth, sickness, old age and death. He has transformed the lives of many people.
2. Muhammad (570 CE-632 CE)
He is known to have founded the religion-Islam. He believed that there is only one God, and he is the messenger of God. He taught people to respect elders and teachers. He taught people to believe in honesty and hard work. He taught people to remember God all the times. Giving a different religion, he has set different notions for the people.
1. Martyn Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)
He was a leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. he was a black American. He worked hard for making the lives of African-Americans better. He even lost his life in struggle for doing so, as he was assassinated. He followed the path o non-violence as shown by Mahatma Gandhi. In 1964 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He believed in living a life for others and working for others.
